History of the Greasley Singers

In 2000, we, The Greasley Singers celebrated our 21st birthday. Our group has taken its name from the local church, Greasley Church, where we used to rehearse, and with which we still retain our links. The Choir comprises of 23 members, together with the conductor Gloria Preece and accompanist Jean Thomas.

Originally the group was called ‘The Bakers Dozen’ as most members were teachers and Baker Days were popular, as well has having 13 members in our group.
